Hello, thank you for letting me inquire about my family! My Grandmother was Louise Varra, She joined Palscal Varra in Colorado ? my Grandfather, James Bonelli (or could be Bonelli). They worked in the coal mines in Superior, Colorado. James and Louisa had three sons and they lost two of them. Is there anyone that might like to write to me and tell me what life was like that caused them to leave beautiful Italy? I would so appreciate it. I am their granddaughter, Louise. Age 86 but in good health. There was just a terrible fire in this little town of Superior and my home, and everything in it burned. Thank you so much!
I am looking for relatives from Roccamandolfi. My Grandmother was Christina D’Andrea Varra and my Grandfather was Pasquale Varra. They moved from Roccamandolfi to Colorado USA. If you would like to communicate my email is [email protected]. I don’t speak Italian but can find a translator.

My name is Elizabeth and this Christmas season have been nostalgic about my Grandparents little hometown of Roccamandolfi
I know a bit about it from cousins living there and relatives visiting Roccamandolfi thru the years.
My Grandmother was Cristina Pinelli (had 13 children) and my Grandfsther had a barbershop for 50 years in Roccamandolfi Sabatino Berlingieri.
Their devoted esteemed town Doctor was Dr. Cialella.
My Mom and her sisters immigrated from Roccamandolfi to various parts of the world.
My Mom Lidia and my aunts came to Canada in 1957 and settled in the big city of Toronto.
Other aunts and uncles in France and Australia.
Periodically our Roccamandolfi relatives visit us annually and stay with us.
Roccamandolfi has a great municipality that holds some archive names and past records.
It has become a wonderful town with B&B and skiing is well known in various certified ski slopes in close distance to the town. Many ski tourists.
They have a big town community in Roccamandolfi where all social dances with great music in the “Piazza” every weekend….all ages get together and it’s wonderful!!!
Best wishes to all,
