Villavallelonga was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Ultra II province.

I have spoken to other Americans who have found their ancestors after one day of being in ‘Villa”. Bakeries and stores will always be remembered by the locals as far back as 100 years ago It is worth a trip to Italy and ” La Villa” as locals call it to seek and ask the “Villachiani’s” in the village:(
