Monteodorisio was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Citra province.

My Grand Grand mother, Elvira Ricchezza, was born in Monteodorisio, Provincia de Chieti, Abruzzo in 1872. She migrated to Brasil, arriving in Rio de Janeiro in 1886. Her mother was Madalena Lucia Di Giacomo e her father, Marcelino Ricchezza.
