Monteferrante was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Citra province.

I am the grandson of Antonio and Carolina Sulmonetti. They had 6 children, 2 buried in the cemetery. The others were William, Beatrice (my mother), Alfred, and Alexander. They migrated to the United States in 1913. I visited Montefetente in 1967 and saw the house where my mother was born. My great grandfather was the mayor and built the fountain in the time square. I would love to learn more about my family and the town. Thank you.
