Alfedena was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Ultra II province.

My last name is Damico (was D’amico, but, when my great-grandfather came thru Ellis Island when he came to America the ‘ was dropped.) I am trying to see if there is a way to connect with someone I am related to as we are planning to make a trip to Alfedena. Would love to connect with someone before we get there. My
Great-grandfather was Camillo D’amico . At this time I do not have his father’s first name. His Mother was Scolastica (maiden name Liberatore) My Great-grandmother was Florence (maiden name was DiLaura).
I just read your post and and wondered if you had made your visit to Alfedena and what success you had connecting to your Damico family. My wife’s GGrandmother Angelina Gaglietta was born in Alfedena in abt 1879. She married Loretto Damico and joined him in the USA according to Ellis Island records on Ships Manifest SS Lahn sailing from Naples 25th November 1903 into Port of New York. I have limited information on Loretto Damico.
