The municipality of Pennapiedimonte also includes the following suburbs: Capolegrotti, Coste Aranciata, Colli, Coste dei Colli, Defenza, Fontana, Laio, Pisavini, Raiese, San Giovanni, Vicende.
Pennapiedimonte was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Citra province.
