I have traced my 3x’s great grandfather Settimio Peća (1800-?) to Casacanditella, Chieti in Abruzzi. His wife was Fioralba deSanctis (1804-?) also from the same place. I know through Y-DNA testing & family stories that our family is originally from across the Adriatic in the Balkans- most likely Croatia or Albania. The time period was around 1400-1600 during the Ottoman invasion. I have been unable to find any records prior to 1800 to trace the family back further. Does anybody know how I can do this or what entity I can write to?
