Ari is a municipality located in the province of Chieti at 289 meters (948 feet) of altitude. Ari has 1165 inhabitants and a surface area of 11.39 square kilometers (4.4 square miles).
The municipality of Ari also includes the following suburbs: Curci, Foro, Pianagrande, San Antonio, San Pietro, Santa Maria, Turrimarchi.
Ari was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Citra province.
