Ortucchio is a municipality located in the province of L'Aquila at 680 meters (2231 feet) of altitude. Ortucchio has 1863 inhabitants and a surface area of 39 square kilometers (15.06 square miles).
Ortucchio was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Ultra II province.
