The municipality of Fornelli also includes the following suburbs: Alluoro, Bivio, Canala, Castello, Cervaro, Chiuselle, Fontanelle, Guardiello, Pincere, Santa Maria Casali.
Fornelli was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Molise province.
