Castellalto is a municipality located in the province of Teramo at 481 meters (1578 feet) of altitude. Castellalto has 7359 inhabitants and a surface area of 34.18 square kilometers (13.2 square miles).
The municipality of Castellalto also includes the following suburbs: Campogrande, Casemolino, Castelbasso, Castelnuovo Vomano, Feudo, Fosso Cupo, Guzzano, Mulano, Petriccione, San Cipriano, San Gervasio, Santa Lucia, Villa Torre, Villa Zaccheo.
Castellalto was part of the Kingdom of Naples before the unification of Italy (1861) and belonged to the former Abruzzo Ultra I province.
