I live in the USA, last name is Visioli. I am trying to locate family history: they are from Aquilla, town of Barate. I would appreciate any information . My Grandfather was Vincenzo Visioli and married Anna Rocci. Thank you.
Thank you.
My Grandfather was from Barete. Louis Santucci. He moved to the United States and settled in Illinois, but returned to Italy with his family, 3boys and 2 daughters (including my Father Silvio Vito Santucci) before WWI. When the war broke out, he was conscripted & served. He had a 4th son, Daniel, while in Italy. They returned to Illinois after the war & remained here until his death. He died shortly after my birth so I never met him. He used to talk about riding donkeys in the mountains and how they would walk so close to the edge. He would have been there from about 5 years old & left when he was about 8 years old.
I would be interested in knowing if any one remembers the family.
Thank you,
Dolores, I’m researching Luigi “Louis” Santucci on behalf a of a work friend who is working to establish Italian citizenship. I can tell you Luigi was born 19 Feb 1878 to Vito Santucci and Precius Cervelli. He emigrated to the US in 1902, arriving in October, so would have been 14 years old. He was joining an older brother already in Scranton, PA (unfortunately the handwriting is impossible to make out on the ships manifest, the Perugia). In addition to his son Dante “Daniel” he and his wife also had a daughter, Pearl “Italia” Santucci who was born on Sep 23 1915.
Yvonne, I just saw your message.
My Father, Sylvia Vito Santucci, was born in 1910. He had two older Brothers Mario & Emil. He had one younger brother Dante plus two Sisters Pearl & Beatrice.
My Grandfather, Louis, died in 47’ in Illinois. He & his sons worked at Western Electric.
My Uncle Danny ( Dante) lived in California but the rest of the family stayed in Illinois.
I believe my Grandfather had married my Grandmother, Caroline, when she was very young. Maybe even 14? He must have been very young also when they stared their family as my Dad had two older Brothers & was born in 1910.
Please let me know if I can give you anymore information and also if you’ve found out anything of interest that you could share.
Thanks!
